Life is Not a Dress Rehersal

What’s on your “I’ll get around to doing that – someday list?”

Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, start your own business or write a novel.

For many of us it is terribly easy to become complacent. We act as if we are going to live forever – that our dreams can wait. Because of this so many opportunities remain dreams until it is too late.

Most of us are so wrapped up in the day-to-day business of being a grown up that the really important things in life fall to the bottom of our list of priorities.

As teenagers we think, “I’ll get around to that when I’m older.” In our twenties we say, “I’ll get around to it when I have a secure career – or when I get married”. Then it turns into “I’ll get around to it when the kids have started school – when the kids have finished university – when we move into a bigger house – when the kids move out and get married – when I retire – and then all of a sudden – oops, it’s suddenly too late…!”

The problem with putting off your dreams until someday in the future is that someday never comes.

This life is not a dress rehearsal. Now is the time to take ACTION and make a positive change in your life.

What’s on your “I’ll get around to doing that –someday” list?

It’s definitely worth thinking about.

In your pursuit of happiness, you must make your dreams a priority. Be inspired to put pen to paper and keep a record of your dreams… and become a dreamer of the day!

“All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”
— T. E. Lawrence, “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom”
