Meet your new wardrobe hero: the Poppy Top - a new twist on the classic Elk shell top. The poppy has many symbolic meanings, often connected to sleep and peace. This print, with its touches of glittering gold, for us is a symbol of imagination and of fragments of messages delivered in dreams. Featuring a flattering mock turtleneck with an elegantly lengthens neckline, cap sleeves, and a subtle keyhole and button on the reverse, this design is effortless, light, and comfortable on the body and crafted using one of our preferred, sustainable fabric. The Poppy Top will seamlessly find itself at home in your wardrobe, with the black background colour of the print affording numerous opportunities to pair with your existing pieces. Consider wearing a pair of slim jeans or a denim skirt for a sophisticated take on casual dressing.
50% LENZING Viscose, 50% Viscose
This fabric has a silk-like satin appearance. The smooth finish perfectly drapes on the body without clinging, resulting in a floaty, luxurious garment. Viscose has a smooth feel and a breathability that is perfect in summer or worn under layers in winter. Please follow the care instructions on your garment so you can wear for many seasons to come.
Viscose is made from cellulose from timber that has been processed and spun into fine fibres. We are working with not-for-profit organisation Canopy to ensure that our forest-based fabrics are responsibly sourced from sustainable forestry. The viscose fibres in this garment are from producers with a green shirt ranking according to the most current CanopyStyle Hot Button Report. These producers are considered low risk or have taken substantive action to eliminate risk of sourcing from ancient and endangered forests.
50% of the viscose fibres are from Lenzing, who are leading the way in responsible viscose production. Lenzing source 100% of the raw wood pulp material from sustainable forestry, and their innovative low impact viscose production process uses environmentally friendly energy sources, with high recovery rates of chemicals and complete treatment and purification of all wastewater.
The fibres in this blend are naturally renewable and biodegradable.
This style was made in China through production agent Eastlink Sales. Eastlink was established in 2006 by Mrs Crystal Wu. Crystal has a great team based in Shanghai who work with us to manage our development and production. They also act as the go-between with the factory where our garments are made, Suzhou Miaoyun Garment Co Ltd. This factory is signed up to Sedex and has undergone a SMETA social compliance audit.
Eastlink is one of our keenest producers in terms of producing more sustainable product. They are actively assisting us with communication between fibre producers and mills where we are finding new materials that will form our ranges in the future.
Size and Fit
This top has a relaxed fit through the body, and given the turtleneck-style, we would recommend taking your usual size. The design also features a subtle modesty panel under the arms. When checking measurements, consider the neck opening and bust measurements as the most important when determining your size.
