Limited Edition Escapade #08 Elevation S/S 8.5cm
For their newest limited edition artist series, Opinel has teamed up with Jérémy Groshens -Les Aiguilles de Dje, a 29-year-old French tattoo artist. Travelling between the mountains of his native Alsace and the Basque coast, Jérémy takes his art on the road, working from a 1972 Digue camper-turned-mobile workshop and tattoo parlor called the Outdoor Tattoo Truck.
Opinel decided to work with Jérémy on a specific theme: “Getaway,” the desire to take off on an adventure, and to delight in the beauty of nature. Three limited edition knives came out of this partnership.
“Elevation” is inspired by Japanese prints that pay homage to landscapes and sacred places. A vision of those summits, frozen for just one moment in all their majesty, is recreated in a minimalist style with fluid lines, blocks of colour and subtle shading.
