These garments were made in China by Fluid Connection who were established in 2006 and are located in Hangzhou. They have been making garments for us since 2016 and we visit the operation at least two to three times a year. They too come to see us in Melbourne annually to work with our team. The factory that we make our products in is a relatively small operation but quite modern with automated systems for efficiencies and quality.
They are members of Sedex and we chose to operate with them not only for their skills but as they are located close to out fabric and trims suppliers, this reduces transportation impacts, costs and shares other third party suppliers such as dye and print houses.
They are actively working with us on ways to improve the sustainable profiles of our product including shifting to roll packing methods to reduce plastic consumption and replacing conventional sewing threads to recycled materials amongst many other things.
The Sentosa Print Tank is cut in a slight A-line shape from the shoulders which allows for a swing movement and features a mirrored V neck along the back. An extended interior facing provides a smooth and seamless finish. Crafted from 100% Viscose this piece is lightweight and captures drapey movement and a slightly stepped hem. Layer with the Sentosa Skort for a statement, uniform look. As this is an original ELK yardage print the placement of the print will vary from garment to garment. This ensures each tank is unique and minimises fabric wastage.
This garment was designed by the ELK team and made by Tongxiang Jimmy Fashions in China. Jimmy has worked with us since 2010 making woven and knitted apparel. Jimmy is actively working with us to make workplace improvements and operate an ethical and sustainable business. We visit Jimmy at least twice a year and he additionally comes to visit our team annually.
