Margaret Rose Preston, born in Port Adelaide (29 April 1875 – 28 May 1963), is considered to be one of Australia’s most significant artists.
Margaret played a key role in the development of the modern art movement in Sydney from the 1920s to the 1950s and is best known as a painter and print maker.
She was also one of the first non-Indigenous Australian artists to use Aboriginal motifs in her work.
